SUDEP ActionWe’re delighted to be supporting SUDEP Action as our 2019 charity of the year.  This is our tenth year of adopting an annual charity, and to date our customers and staff have helped us raise over £30,000 for some great causes!

SUDEP Action works to prevent epilepsy related deaths and supports families bereaved by epilepsy.  SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) is when someone with epilepsy dies and no cause can be found.  Research shows that 42% of the 600+ SUDEP deaths in the UK each year are potentially preventable.  In May 2004, 11 year old Becky Scrivens from Alton fell victim to SUDEP.  Since then, her parents Roger and Sandie have worked passionately with SUDEP Action to raise awareness of SUDEP risk.  The charity is currently running its ‘Prevent 21’ campaign which highlights the 21 epilepsy-related deaths each week and aims to raise £2.1m by the end of 2021 to further the fight against SUDEP.  Thank you for your continued support of our nominated charity.

Coomers receives a huge volume of requests for support each year, and in addition to our main charity, we do endeavour to support a small number of local charities, clubs and projects.  Unfortunately we are unable to help everybody but if you do wish to be considered, please click here.
