Broadlands Group RDA 2017

Broadlands Group RDA was our 2017 charity of the year, and on 15 January 2018 we were pleased to present them with £2,500.  We thank our customers and staff for supporting them at our corporate events, coffee mornings, Christmas jumper day and via collections in our three branches.

Established in 1955, Broadlands provides a safe and highly specialised environment where children and adults with disabilities benefit both physically and psychologically from riding.  The riding therapy sessions result in great improvements, not only for those who have mobility, strength or co-ordination problems, but also conditions which cause behavioural issues.

The money raised went towards a new roof for their riding school, which so urgently needed replacing.  They also hoped to improve and expand their facilities to help more disabled people, including those with downs syndrome, cerebral palsy, spina bifida and autism.  In addition, Broadlands were also hoping to be able to assist accident victims and sufferers of post traumatic stress disorder.

It's was a great pleasure to be associated with such a fantastic local charity, which does so much to help disabled people of all ages, and we wish them well with their continued fundraising.

For more information on Broadlands, including volunteering, visit their website.  You can also find them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
