Grow For It with Alan Titchmarsh 2016

On 21 May 2016, Britain's best-loved gardener - Alan Titchmarsh - hosted a gardening and wildlife experience at The Royal School, Hindhead.  The event - Grow For It - for under elevens, was a fabulous success despite the weather, with 457 children plus their parents and grandparents attending.

The day consisted of morning and afternoon sessions, after which there were opportunities for visitors to pose their questions to Alan in two Q&A sessions.  There were many activities throughout the day, including pond dipping, painting flower pots and nature coasters, nature trail and a bug hunt.  The children also learnt about planting, sowing, and made a bird nibble ring.

The organisers wrote to tell us what a successful day it was and thanked us for this wheelbarrow, which our Haslemere branch was pleased to donate to the raffle!
