Jaz Bush Charity Football Day 2017

On 10 December 2017 a charity football event was held at Woolmer Hill in memory of Jasmine Bush.  Her mother wrote to thank us for kindly sponsoring "Jaz’s Team Kit" and updated us on the success of the event:

"We tragically lost our 16 year old daughter, Jaz, in August after suffering a long battle of depression and anxiety.  Carl Thayre, Ben Susans and Adam Bicknell, with the help of Lisa Hatchell, took it upon themselves to arrange the Jaz Football Charity Day.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everybody involved in organising/helping behind the scenes/supporting this event.  Without them this couldn’t have taken place.

The turnout was amazing bearing in mind the horrendous weather, and the total raised (by February 2018) through the charity day, Just Giving website and donations was £10,477.81.  This was to be divided equally between the National Autistic Society (Surrey Branch) and Young Minds.

Mental health, depression and anxiety is an ongoing problem for youngsters today and we urge them to get the help and support that they deserve."

The organisers were hoping to make this an annual event to raise awareness for both charities.
