We were delighted to present The Haslemere and District Committee of Macmillan Cancer Support with a cheque for £3,551.64 on 16 March 2017. Macmillan was our 2016 charity of the year and thanks to the generosity of our customers and staff, funds were raised at our corporate events including our charity Golf Day, via in-store collections, and participation in the Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning.
Macmillan Cancer Support provides specialist care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. As well as helping with the medical needs of those affected by cancer, Macmillan also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. The Haslemere & District Committee was formed over 35 years ago and works tirelessly to raise funds locally by organising coffee mornings, lunches, quizzes, fairs, tennis tournaments, musical evenings, occasional concerts, and selling Christmas cards.
