Staunton Park Men's Shed 2022

We were pleased to help Staunton Park Men’s Shed in early 2022 by donating timber from our Haslemere branch for them to make into a duck box.  This was then donated by Staunton Men’s Shed to a local group for a pair of breeding mandarins to use, and the group who it was donated to were delighted with it.  These mandarins went on to produce 5 ducklings in the duck box!

In addition, Staunton Men’s Shed created a planter from scrap timber recycled from our Bordon branch and donated it to The Right to Work team (a group of adults with learning difficulties, who have their own garden centre).

Staunton Men’s Shed started in July 2021 and is a group of over twenty members (so far) consisting of pensioners from many ex-professions, who do DIY projects for the local community.  Their projects not only benefit the local community though, because the work they do helps members with their own health and wellbeing.

Commenting on the projects, on behalf of Staunton Park Men’s Shed, local member Rick Bowden said:  “We at the Men' Shed recycle whatever we can source, and it is only with the help of companies such as Coomers that we can help others.”
