SUDEP Action 2019

We were delighted to present SUDEP Action with £8,835.07 in memory of Becky Scrivens from Alton, who lost her life to Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) in 2004.  Since then Becky's amazing parents, Sandie and Roger, have worked tirelessly with the Charity to raise awareness of SUDEP and how the risk of it taking lives can be reduced.  Sandie and Roger (pictured above, middle and right) visited our Head Office on 3 February 2020 to accept the cheque from our Marketing Manager.

2019 was our eleventh year of adopting an annual charity, and we're pleased to say that yet again the funds raised were a record amount - this time thanks to ten members of staff who participated in the Nuts Challenge in August 2019!  Additional funds were raised at corporate events and at coffee mornings held at our Alton, Bordon & Haslemere branches.  In total, over £40,000 has been raised to-date for our annual charities.

On behalf of Coomers, SUDEP Action, and Becky's parents, we’d like to sincerely thank our customers for their generous donations and also our staff for participating in fundraising events, making all of this possible. Sandie and Roger expressed their amazement and gratitude at the total sum raised.
