Bohunt School Ecology Club 2021 Bohunt School Ecology Club 2021

Bohunt School 2021

Bohunt School’s after school Ecology Club (for year 7 and 8 pupils) wanted to create a medicinal herb garden as well as a rainbow flower bed.  This would not only be a site of interest for the students but also be beneficial to many species of wildlife in the school grounds.

After surveying the tired and dilapidated raised bed which had been allocated for this area, the school realised the condition of the soil was too poor for anything to grow in it, so desperately needed some topsoil.  Mrs Melia, the Biology teacher, wrote to tell us about the proposed project but explained that their budget did not stretch to purchasing topsoil, so we were happy to come to the rescue, providing enough for her army of mini Ecologists to create the new herb and flower beds.

The school had hoped to finish the project after the school summer holidays.  We hope the area will thrive and be enjoyed by both pupils and wildlife alike!
