Coomers Golf Day 2023 Coomers Golf Day 2023

Coomers Golf Day 2023

Our annual charity Golf Day was held on a sunny late September day in 2023 at Blacknest Golf Club.  The event - kindly supported by Hunter Plastics - was a great success and we were delighted that a record sum was raised for our charity of the year, Pancreatic Cancer Action.  This small national charity, based in Oakhanger, stives to improve the survival rates of pancreatic cancer through early diagnosis.

The guests enjoyed coffee & bacon rolls before heading out on the course for 18 holes, played Texas Scramble style.  The winning team consisted of Ben Tweddle, Simon Burdett, Jonty Allen & Ryan Coates (guests of our Haslemere branch).  We also had Nearest the Pin, Longest Drive and Target Golf challenges, for which coincidentally two different Steve Browns won!  For those three challenges, trophies were awarded to Steve Brown (representing M Livingstone), Steve Brown (representing CM Kelly), and Simon Burdett respectively.

Players enjoyed a 2 course meal and drinks in the clubhouse afterwards, followed by the trophy presentation.  We thank Hunter Plastics for supporting the event and Blacknest Golf & Country Club for another successful and enjoyable day.  Also big thanks to our guests for their generosity in helping to raise a fantastic £1,365 for a very worthy cause.
