Shottermill Junior School 2019

The Shottermill Junior School Parent, Friends and Teachers Association put on a lovely Christmas Fair for the children and wider community on Friday 6th December 2019.  They wanted to make it really magical and with a theme like Dr Seuss’ Grinch they could let their imaginations fly, transforming the School into a Grinch wonderland!  The event was a great success and the children had a lot of fun.  The PTFA were so grateful for the community support and involvement leading up to the event, and had donations of sausages, a beer tent, decorating materials, plus lots of hard work and dedication from wonderful volunteers.

Thanking our Haslemere branch for a donation of paint, Heather Chuter (the self proclaimed PTFA "head of decorating" for the project), said:  "Thank you to Coomers (one of my personal favourite places in the neighbourhood and my go to for all things DIY!) for donating some Christmassy red and green paints so that we could create loads of murals and painted cardboard decorations!  They made a huge impact and the School kept them hanging for the rest of December as they were so festive!  Many of the generic candy cane, lolly decorations will be used year after year!  Your team was so kind and fun about finding and mixing Christmas in a can and the lovely folks in the flooring and timber department let us rummage though disused cardboard and we were able to print some beautiful murals with them!  We have saved the paint for next year as there was more than enough and it will continue to be used by the School for productions and fairs in the future!  Many thanks for your community spirit and generosity."
